Signed “Swift and Son, 43 University St. London, W.C.” on the anodized bronze foot, this is one of their earlier examples that was produced well into the 20th century from their Tottenham Court Road (1881)  address. Double-plate brass sundial signed Edm Culpeper Fecit made circa 1720

Double-plate brass sundial signed “Edm Culpeper Fecit”. The upper plate features on its top an hour scale in Roman numerals IV-XII -VIII with attractive foliage and foliate decoration on the plate and gnomon. The lower plate features the signature, the movable arm and a blued steel hand with the letters N[orth] et S[outh] on a brass pivot. 1799 Silver Dental Traveling Set

1799 Silver Dental Traveling Set in red morocco-leather case. Double-hinged tooth powder box fully hallmarked for London 1799 with the maker’s mark of Richard Lockwood. The toothbrush is struck “RL” on the handle for Richard Lockwood. The bristles are mounted in bone. Case is 5.5″ or 14cm in length. No condition issues. Although unsigned, the brasswork is of the highest quality and the design is most unusual. Certainly early Victorian (royal blue velvet liner), this internally case mounted simple botanical microscope has no provision for a compound body tube. An antique pair of cased German silver proportional dividers by Elliott Brothers of 449 The Strand, London, dating them to 1864-1886. Elliott Brothers was established in 1854 by Frederick and Charles Elliott, expanding from their father William Elliott’s mathematical instrument business.
