It measures 2.75 inches long (7 cm) when closed with a diameter to the barrel of 1.5 inches (38 mm). It comes to focus at 4 inches. The object glass has a diameter of 35 mm. A single draw marine telescope measuring 21″ when closed and 38″ when fully open. It has a crown / flint objective glass of 48 mm diameter and there are protective sliders to each end. A 19th century eight draw telescope, signed on the first draw, ‘Chadburn Bros’, Sheffield’. They worked from 1837 – 1884. It has a main lens of 40 mm diameter and measures 14 cm when closed and 72 cm (29″) when fully open. It has a leather barrel, lens cap and eye piece dust slider and is contained in a card case.
