A rare terrestrial or surveying quadrant with both telescopes used in horizontal plan. The instrument is signed “Dubois à Paris” so datable from the 1760s’.The instrument is divided from 0 to 90 degrees. It is mounted on its original stand. It incorporates several micrometric screws for fine adjustments. A rare portable and diminutive form for the surveying uses of the larger vertical astronomical quadrant. A very fine brass surveying circle with six sights, two of which are mounted on a rotating alidade. The circle measures 15,5 cm diameter.
